Well, what an experience! The first night we arrived we shot the Mehndi Party at the bride’s parent’s house. What a beautiful house! It was overlooking the water on a large lot and had so much space inside. The pictures are so colourful because of the women who all wore traditional sari’s. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. The party was also a great way to get to know the guests and the family before the actual wedding day.
The day of the wedding was perfect weather, a little cloudy, but warm. Vincent and I had found a spot near the water to do some photos of the bride and groom and we managed to sneak them away just long enough to get some creative portraits. We found this beautiful rock cliff with dry grass that was only too perfect for shooting. It had a great mixture of texture and view. I will post some pictures when I get a chance to go through all of them.
On Sunday Vincent and I had a chance to hang out in Victoria and do some shooting again by the that same cliff. It was nice to have some relaxing time to shoot. We went back to that same rock cliff and I used my lensbaby for some landscape shots.
All in all it was a great experience.

Just found out that our start time for the wedding on Saturday is about 1pm. There is a Mehndi Party on Friday evening that we are shooting as well. I am glad to hear that Vincent and I are on the same page for what we want to shoot in our spare time. We are hoping to find some old houses or old barns to shoot for our stock photos. Hopefully we can also get some good water shots as well. It sounds like we will have a bit of spare time on our hands, so taking advantage of beautiful Victoria will be a treat!

I am writing this on my new laptop. No new shoots to report yet. I am assisting on a big wedding this weekend in Victoria. It should be a really great trip. Invisionation photography is the one running the show. An amazing and talented photographer. He is also a really good guy too! Victoria is a very beautiful city, I am sure we will have no trouble finding spots to shoot. We are also hoping the do some shooting on our own too, in order to take advantage of the opportunity of being in Victoria. I will post some shots when I return.

I took this image a while ago, but I thought I would comment on it. I love this image because of its simplicity and intimacy. A mother, pondering her unborn child. It is sometimes the most simple composition and lighting that make the most effective image. I used only natural light.

I have been a little back logged with images lately. I have this problem in that I do not like the edit part of photography. I would just rather be out shooting. Part of the issue is that I am using a fairly old computer and the combination of large files and not a lot of RAM create a very time consuming process. So, as I write this, my new computer is in the mail, being shipped directly to my house. It should arrive next week. With a newer, faster computer, I should be able to process these images much quicker. No more waiting for Photoshop to open, it will just be there! So those patient models who have been waiting for their stunning work to be sent to them will finally get their files. I hope they will be worth the wait.
This photo is of Lauren. It was a evening shoot in Hazel Grove Farms in Fort Langley. After some unexpected cancellations from other models, Lauren was the one that saved the day. Thanks to Christa Gallant for her hair and makeup styling.

I have been a photographer for most of my life. Creating quality images for people is something that I love. Welcome to my site!
